Samsung is set to host its latest Galaxy Unpacked event in Brooklyn, New York, where the company will introduce its newest foldable smartphones and wearables. The launch, scheduled for July 9, will see the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, a new Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
The event will begin at 07:30 PM IST and will be broadcast live via Samsung Newsroom India and Samsung India’s official YouTube channel.
Samsung is expected to reveal three foldable smartphones this year. These include the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 7, the compact Galaxy Z Flip 7, and a budget variant named Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. The devices are designed around a next-generation AI-centric user interface combined with new-generation hardware enhancements.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is anticipated to be slimmer than its predecessor, with an unfolded thickness of 4.2mm and 8.9mm when folded. It will weigh approximately 216 grams, making it the most lightweight book-style foldable released by the company so far. The smartphone is rumored to feature a 6.5-inch outer screen and an 8-inch inner screen. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Fold 7 will house a 4,400mAh battery. Storage configurations may include 256GB, 512GB, and possibly a 1TB variant. The rear camera system is expected to include a 200MP primary sensor. Available colors are likely to be blue, black, and silver.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to sport a 4.1-inch external screen that wraps around its dual camera setup. The device is said to be slimmer than earlier versions and will feature a 4,300mAh battery. Internals will include similar storage options as the Fold 7. A 50MP main camera is rumored. It will be offered in multiple color options similar to the Fold 7.
Samsung is reportedly preparing a more affordable foldable alternative under the Fan Edition label. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is said to be equipped with 128GB and 256GB storage options and a 4,000mAh battery. The device may retain the same screen sizes as the Flip 7 and will likely be available in black and white color variants.
The new Galaxy Watch 8 series will include watches running on the new Exynos W1000 chipset built on a 3nm process with five CPU cores. Each model is expected to have 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The devices will ship with One UI 8.0 Watch OS. On the hardware side, the wearables will include an array of sensors such as an accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, light sensor, geomagnetic sensor, PPG, ECG, and BIA sensors, aimed at improved health and activity tracking.
